Boost your internet Speed by releasing Reserved Bandwidth

By default, Windows Vista/XP reserves 20% of the connection bandwidth for QoS traffic. This tweak allows the setting to be altered to a different percentage of connection bandwidth. You can release this by following these steps.

  1. Go to run and type gpedit.msc .
  2. Navigate to Computer Configuration ----> Administrative templates ---->Network.
  3. Open QoS Packet Scheduler.
  4. Double click Limit Reservable Bandwidth.
  5. Not configured would be chosen. However by default the value is 20% .
  6. Select enable and make the value 0.
  7. This should boost your net speed considerably.
